    1. Thanks Karla. When I was little, the Mumbai zoo had elephant rides. Apparently I screamed my head off - not that I remember. But my dare-devil daughter absolutely loved it. Thanks for visiting my blog.

    1. Thanks Beachlover. Not sure exactly what the painting means, but elephants are an integral part of Indian culture. I think painting them just signifies them as important and loved. Thanks for visiting.

  4. I have been on elephants too when I was little. You can go on rides in villages some ten years ago. But now I see them only in temples :(

    1. You can still do rides in Jaipur - recently my class had another re-union there and they have some fabulous pics of elephant rides. I also think that the Kaziranga game sanctuary in Assam has an elephant safari. Jaipur and Kaziranga are on my "places to see" list.
