Today I looked at this tree and felt my dad was here with me.
He loved red flowers.
In Hinduism, we perform many rites for the peace of the departed soul.
One of those rites (feeding the birds) was done near this tree.
Ever since then this tree just flowers beautifully.
I look at this tree often, but today I just felt close to my dad.
That was an endearing moment, one I want to feel and remember forever.

Exactly a year ago on Sept 9 2011, New Zealand hosted the Rugby World Cup. New Zealand won the cup and are the current world champions.

This week I received a lovely leather hand made bracelet from my sponsored child with my name engraved on it. I've sponsored a few children via World Vision. This one came from the Honduras.

My sponsored children are lovely and I was so happy to receive this one from Daisy.  

This is something I will cherish and a moment I will remember forever. Such a precious gift.

Perfect for the craft theme (at Blogging For Fun) as well.

Here's one I took years ago when my son was little. Each year the Silverstream Railway host a Thomas The Tank Engine day. Great fun for the kids and the adults too.

Yesterday I took the day off from work to spend a day out with my son. 

We went to the University's open day. It was great to be around so many young people - such a high energy buzz there. Took me back to my university days. 

But more than that I had quality time with my son and I loved spending the day with him.

I didn't take my camera with me but we did pick up a lot of brochures. 

So here's a picture to remind me of the day and since we went to the school of architecture I thought I'd have fun with my photo and make something abstract.
