This week's prompt at Friday My Town Shoot Out is Patriotic.
Here is the Indian flag on top of the Mantralaya in Mumbai. Mantralaya is the administrative headquarters of the state government of Maharashtra and was built in 1955.
And here is the New Zealand flag on top of the Beehive - one of the NZ Parliament buildings - in Wellington.
I like seeing flags flying high above public buildings.
ReplyDeleteThanks EG CameraGirl. I like them too - something very commanding about that and emotional.
DeleteNice shots!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jama.
DeleteWhat impressed me is how small the cars are in that photo. They are so big over here!
ReplyDeleteHi Rebecca - I never noticed that, but it's so true.
DeleteA nice array of photos. Makes you proud does it not. Wish I could visit there some day. blessings
ReplyDeleteQMM
Thanks Peggy. I hope someday you can visit. Both are awesome places.
DeleteThanks Loredana. Yep, that's why it's called the beehive!
ReplyDeleteLove the flag on the Beehive shot, Suzy. Great for the topic even if I sometimes don't feel very patriotic about the folk inside the Beehive.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pauline. oh lol I agree with you about the folk in the Beehive.
DeleteGreat to see our country's flag flying proud in Bombay.
ReplyDeleteFlags always kindle a patriotic feeling in me.
Joy always,
Susan
Thanks Susan. Yep, they kindle that in me too. The Mantralaya without the flag would not look so imposing.
DeleteGreat pictures. I love seeing flags waving...and the palm trees remind me of our trip to Florida! I know it's not in Florida though...but still..I love seeing palm trees!
ReplyDeleteGreat post.:)
Thanks Jessica. I love palm trees too.
DeleteCool...sadly there was a fire at the Mantralaya a fortnight back, where the last 3 floors were destroyed and 3 people lost their lives.
ReplyDeleteHi Janu, yes I heard about the fire. sad to hear that people lost their lives. It's a very imposing building. Bombay has some really beautiful buildings.
DeleteWonderful photos reminding us all to treasure the flag of our own country. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThanks Martha. Yes we should treasure our flags. And I am so lucky I can treasure 2 - India and NZ.
DeletePatriotic indeed! Enjoyed your photos, Suzy! <3 :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Irene. Glad you liked my photos.
DeleteVery patriotic ! I never think to take a picture of a flag, lol ! It's not very much in fashion here.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gattina. I think I was just lucky that both buildings had flags flying.
