Windmills

Windmills in Windy Wellington suddenly appeared

The hills by large look the same everyday and yet each day you notice something different. The sun playing games and making patterns on it, or a house being built here and there, cows and sheep, sometimes deer.

Then one day you look up and suddenly notice something quite different on the horizon. And here's what I saw:

Windmills!

And here's what it looks like up close:

Windmills in Windy Wellington make complete sense.

  1. I love to see wind turbines - some people hate them - but they are helping to save the planet, and they are beautiful.

  2. We have an array of them here, too, on a (fortunately) not-so-close ridgeline. I know we need them, so I guess I can stand their esthetics. I'm just glad they didn't put them up right outside my window (as they did with a friend of mine.) I wish, though, that they didn't have those (all-night-long) blinking red lights, so that (at least half the time) I could pretend they weren't there.

    1. True Ron. I would also not like it if they were right outside my window. Haven't seen any blinking red lights on these - but then I haven't really looked at night.

  4. That's a lovely capture. I love windmills, they look so tall and magnificent! The Thar desert in Rajasthan is witnessing a revolution of sorts, thanks to dozens of windmills that now dot the desert in Jodhpur district. They are in fact termed as windmills of change in Rajasthan's power situation. :)

  5. Lovely shots, I have a fascination for windmills as well. The skies, I think, make for a wonderful contrast here.

  10. windmills may be a solution, but they kill many birds every year.

    1. Thanks Kathe for posting the link. There are always down sides to everything. I guess as time goes on with more research, it will become safer for all.
