Missing my Xtremely sweet grand furbaby

With Chappy in Nelson, New Zealand

Loved spending time with my little Chappy. Will look forward to spending more time with him again. Brought back memories of my dogs in my young days and my little guinea pigs. Animals give back so much love.

Enjoyment

Doing what I enjoy a lot

Photography and blogging are things I enjoy a lot. And when you can combine the two together then that's even better.

So here's a round up of the Photo A Day #FMSphotoaday challenge for the last week.

Mixing up a smoothie and enjoying fresh smoothies each morning. This one had celery, beetroot, ginger, apple and banana. On a more philosophical note, life is a mixture of ups and downs. My dad always said to me that your true strength of character shown in the down times not in the ups and the down times make life interesting.

I truly enjoy drawing Zentangles. I find them so therapeutic and as I do them free flow, I never know what they'll eventually look like which is half the fun. Not only are we all creative but also creators in our own way.

I took this picture some years ago at a winery. I loved the mirror so much. And my daily thought was taken from my poem The Mirror Of My Soul. Poetry gives me so much enjoyment.

Birds of a feather flock together. Once on the spiritual path this saying starts to make so much sense in relation to vibrational energy. When you are a vibrational match you come together and part when you are no longer a vibrational match. Something to ponder over. But on a lighter note these birds gathered in my garden to feed on the breadcrumbs I left them. I enjoy watching the birds eat and their antics.

A look inside my local supermarket. The balloons are so colourful, they always make me feel welcomed. I enjoy the colourful balloons. And of course it's what's inside that matters!

My mom has hurt her knee and had no strength in it to walk. I was worried that she might fall and hoped that I could find her a walker for more support and for my peace of mind. And lo and behold I walk into the pharmacy to pick up her medicines and someone has left a walker for sale. Ask and it is given and God Bless the person who left it there. My mom is feeling stronger, safer and on the way to enjoying life again.

Daily Thoughts

Daily thoughts for a positive focus

About 3 weeks ago I started my Daily Thoughts series on my facebook page Suzy's Ilation. I also joined the #FMSphotoaday challenge for August featuring my daily thoughts.

I'm enjoying both the daily thoughts and the photo challenge heaps. The daily thoughts has helped me focus on the positive things in my life and the photo challenge has made me more observant.

So here's a round up of the last week for the photo challenge and my daily thoughts:

This was such a spectacular sky and quite strange too. Looked like a partial map of the world! What were the clouds trying to say? Taken from my dining room window just after dawn.

There's beauty in simplicity. There's not a lot in this picture, but it's one of my favourites. Probably because I love a vibrant pink. This was taken in my garden and lines up very nicely for the Thursday Challenge prompt "Simple"

Shed your load, don't pile it up. Eventually taking on load after load just wears you down.  This was taken at my local supermarket.

In the last few days so many random acts of kindness have come my way outlined in my Gratitude post on my Someday Somewhere blog. Why buses? Because the first random act of kindness is about a bus! I am truly grateful for random acts of kindness. This picture was taken from my workplace.

Featuring my favourite biscuit for the "spot" prompt. So glad I can find it in the Indian store in Welly. And from the prompt and the biscuit, came the thought of the day, keep spotting the good things in your life and life will look good all the time. Happy spotting.

I don't have any pet peeves now. Perhaps as I have grown older, my view of life has changed. But there was a time when one of my biggest pet peeves was someone rearranging my mess. I could never find anything once rearranged and tidied up. But people aren't out to be unhelpful or to purposely annoy. So now I don't let the little things annoy me.

Craziness

Craziness or just addicted to Challenges

I just finished a July Challenge via my blog Someday Somewhere and then having ignored this blog decided to take up a photo challenge for the month of August.

Is that craziness or is a challenge just too tempting to ignore?

So here it is, the first 2 days of the photo a day challenge:

Nature never ceases to amaze

.
Each meal that we eat, spare a thought for those who have none

The Letter X

Letter X proves to be challenging

I had to go through my vast collection of picture to find something that began with the letter X or resembled it.

The only thing I could come up with was my Christmas (Xmas) pictures. Not very innovative, so I decided to be a little creative.

So here they are, my pics for the letter X

Xmas ornaments through Xs

Just a reminder that it is Winter in the Southern Hemisphere. These pics were taken a few years ago as there is no snow this year. (crosses fingers and hopes it's a warm Winter)

Windmills

Windmills in Windy Wellington suddenly appeared

The hills by large look the same everyday and yet each day you notice something different. The sun playing games and making patterns on it, or a house being built here and there, cows and sheep, sometimes deer.

Then one day you look up and suddenly notice something quite different on the horizon. And here's what I saw:

Windmills!

And here's what it looks like up close:

Windmills in Windy Wellington make complete sense.

Views of Victoria University

Victoria University has some interesting campuses

After last week's unusual sky I thought I would post something more down to earth.

So this week for the letter V I thought I would showcase Wellington's University - Victoria.

Unfortunately I don't have pics of the main campus (note to self, to take some pics next time I'm there).

But here are pics of the other campus buildings:

Pipitea Campus - Victoria Business School and Faculty of Law

Faculty of Law - one of the largest wooden buildings in the Southern Hemisphere built in 1876 to house the NZ Civil Service.

Business School

Te Aro Campus - School of Architecture and Design

U is for an Unusual Sky

An Unusual sky caught my eye

A few days ago the dawn sky looked so unusual but quite spectacular.

I've never seen the sky like that before, a purply pink, and I was fascinated.

So here it is ... an Unusual dawn sky.

T is for Trees

Some days Trees look so grand

I meant to post this on Saturday but something or the other came up. Most days we take the scenery for granted. After all we see the same things day after day and a tree is just a tree.

And then on some days, everything looks different and you start to notice the beauty in all things.

It was on a day last week when the trees looked so grand and out came my mobile.

So here they are ... Trees

An interesting week

It's been an interesting two weeks

Sometimes, there are just so many things occurring that the camera click keeps going. And as I haven't posted for two weeks now, I'll be including some interesting pictures I took over the last two weeks.

I think one of my favourite pictures is of the Temple in the sky taken from my lounge. I was amazed at how much it resembled the Dwarkadheesh Temple in Gujarat dedicated to Lord Krishna.

Rainbows are so magical. They always leave me feeling happy. I think of them as blessings from Heaven. This one appeared on Monday as I left for home from work. Just about everyone stopped to take a picture. Thank goodness for phones that now have good cameras.

Usually I can only see the river through the railings but last weekend my friend's land rover gave me quite a different view. And luckily there was a bit of traffic and we stopped plumb in front of it. So of course out came my phone and here is the picture I took.

The Farmer's Market is such an interesting place. There's always something that jumps out at us. Last Saturday we were greeted by this scene. It looked so cute surveying the scene that I had to stop and take a picture.

And then we had a Samoan band and dance troupe entertaining the crowds.

But I liked the drum the best.
