Focus on This - Perigee Moon

This week's focus is on the moon at Blogging For Fun.

These are some pictures I took of the "Super Moon" that appeared on May 6 2012.

These pics were taken the next day - early morning of course.

The May super moon was 14% bigger and 30% brighter than other full Moons of 2012.

The scientific term for the phenomenon is "Perigee moon".

FMTSO - Vacations

This week's prompt at Friday My Town Shoot Out is Vacation Spots

Where do you love to vacation?

Do you go on vacation to rest and relax?

Or do you keep busy with activities?

My favourite place to vacation is my hometown of Mumbai, India.

Visiting Mumbai is always relaxing and great fun to meet up with my relatives and friends. And it's always busy, busy, busy catching up with them.

Here are some of my favourite Mumbai pictures

Relaxing at the Otters Club and looking at the palm trees is so therapeutic. I love the palm trees. They are so elegant.

There are so many sculptures and monuments all over the world, but I thought I would re-cycle one I had posted over a year ago from one of my favourite cities. Rome is such a beautiful city. I loved every moment of my time there and look forward to visiting again.

So here is the Colosseum, one of Rome's iconic monuments.  This is a monument one has to see to believe. The photograph just does not do it justice.

I had to take 3 pictures and stitch them together - wide angle lens not wide enough and this was way before I owned my first digital camera.

I love palm trees. I think they are the most elegant trees I have ever seen. I love photographing palm trees whenever I visit Mumbai.

A moment I want to pause, savour and remember

New Zealand is a small country of 4 million people and when one of our athletes win gold, that is truly a moment to pause, savour and remember.  On a ratio of population to gold medals I think we did well.

Over the last two weeks we had 5 gold medals and I watched each race live, screaming my head off until I was hoarse. No wonder my throat hurts!

So a "single" picture (I cheat a little) made up of 5 golden moments for New Zealand.
