A single photo capturing a moment
A simple, special, extraordinary moment
A moment I want to pause, savour and remember
New Zealand is a small country of 4 million people and when one of our athletes win gold, that is truly a moment to pause, savour and remember. On a ratio of population to gold medals I think we did well.
Over the last two weeks we had 5 gold medals and I watched each race live, screaming my head off until I was hoarse. No wonder my throat hurts!
So a "single" picture (I cheat a little) made up of 5 golden moments for New Zealand.
images from google images
This is the moment
This is the time
When the momentum and the moment
Are in rhyme
Give me this moment
This momentous moment ...

Thanks Kathy. Glad you liked it.
DeleteYou have every right to be proud of them! Youth like this are so special. They work hard and have healthy bodies untainted by drugs, alcohol and unhealthy eating. They are my heroes too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Darlene. Yep they are truly heroes.
DeleteWhat a beautiful tribute to their accomplishments! Everyone who participated should be so proud of their hard work and the goals they reached! Thank you for sharing :)

Thanks Mary. Yep, it's such an honour to be an Olympian. they are all champions whether they win a medal or not. It takes great courage to take part.
DeleteI didn't get to watch the Olympics..loved these photos. Great highlights!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jessica. I was lucky I was at home - in between jobs - for most of the Olympics.
DeleteLOVE the photos. How wonderful. Reminds me of the song Mary Chapin Carpenter sings about being "Almost Home." Ever find some old photos stashed somewhere when cleaning out something and spend 1/2 a day reliving the memories. Good times and great post.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy and thanks for visiting.
DeleteWell done New Zealand, nice tribute.
ReplyDeleteThanks LindyLou. I should update the post and add New Zealand's golden girl Valerie Adams who was awarded the gold medal for shot put yesterday.
DeleteDear Suzy,
ReplyDeleteFinally getting around to visiting everyone from Blog Hop Saturday! #4.
I watched a lot of the Olympics too and I was happy to see a lot more smaller countries than the usual big ones getting in on the medals. You are right! Just being an Olympian is no easy task...you are up there with the best of the best and everyone is a winner, medal or not. Nice moment. Thanks for sharing. Thanks also for linking up to Blog Hop Saturday! Hope to see you for the next one on September 1st.
Thanks Andy. The Olympics were so much fun. Will look forward to the next blog hop.
DeleteNice composite image. I missed the whole thing!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lee. I watched all the NZ participants live but the rest via the highlights. Thanks for dropping by.
