Such a buzz at the marketplace
Each Saturday morning I go to the fruit and vegetable market.
It's great to be outdoors in the fresh air and to spend some time with friends.
The market place is so colourful and also has a high energy buzz about it. I always come back with a dose of positive energy.
This morning, the carrots caught my eye. They were huge - bigger than the cauliflowers and those are pretty big here in NZ. I'm holding one in my hand on the right and it was bigger than my hand.
Here are some other pictures I took.
The colours are so bright and cheery. Always makes me feel happy. My energy levels are also higher after visiting the market and I feel refreshed.
Mother Nature / Mother Earth has endowed us with so many wonderful gifts and we take Her so much for granted. So grateful for this beautiful world.

Wow, look at all the good fruit! You're making me hungry for some farm fresh food:) The apples and grapefruits? look especially lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks Eli. the "grapefruits" are actually nashi pears - they're like a mixture of pear and apple.
DeleteWhen I was a kid, there was a farmer's market that my mother went to. She took the eggs from our chickens and traded for some vegetables. Things were much simpler then.
ReplyDeleteHi Blooming Psycho - so true that things were much simpler then. My son often asks why we don't go back to the barter system.
DeleteThat's pretty much my philosophy too with regard to photos, Suzy. I love beautiful photography but have neither time nor patience to play about with it. As you say, it's a moment.
ReplyDeleteHad a quick browse and like what I saw. Have a nice week! :)
Thanks Restlessjo - glad you liked my blog.
DeleteThose photos are great, such brilliant colours x
ReplyDeleteThanks Jess - glad you liked my pics.
DeleteI ate a carrot once. I couldn't help it. It was him or me.
ReplyDeleteWould you believe it, I'm allergic to carrots!
DeleteJust in time for Earth Day :)

ReplyDeleteGlad you like them - my pics and markets!
DeleteI love outdoor markets. I miss going to them. We have trucks at nearly every corner in my city so I rarely visit the central open markets.
ReplyDeleteOutdoor markets are great fun. They're getting more popular here.
DeleteLove, love, LOVE outdoor markets!! Holy carrot there batman!! Looks like the size of my forearm!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought too Dorothy when I saw them - not quite those words though!
DeleteMmmmm yummy stuff everywhere! Now, I want some fresh fruit and veggies.
ReplyDeleteYep, all the fresh fruit and veggies make you hungry.
DeleteLocal farmer's markets are the best. I try to visit ours every week to see what's available before I plan my weekly meals.
ReplyDeleteHappy SIMC, jj
Thanks Joanna - I look forward to my Saturday market visit.
DeleteThose are some crazy big carrots! I was just telling hubby we need to visit the farmer's market.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday!
They were huge. Enjoy your market visit and enjoy your week.
DeleteYou are right about the colors. So inviting.
ReplyDeleteThanks Keetha.
DeleteLove the photos - there really is a buzz at your market!
ReplyDeleteWe sell our home grown fruit and veg at local markets too, but they're nothing like as opulent as yours. But believe me the buzz is there for the traders too. There's something very special about markets and market trading.
Thanks for this wonderful post.
Lovely looking carrots by the way.
Thanks Sleepshort - the market is just so much fun - I think the traders enjoy it too.
DeleteI didn't even know that carrots could be so big.
ReplyDeleteNeither did I - I was astounded how big they were.
