6WS - SIMC - Marketplace

Such a buzz at the marketplace

Each Saturday morning I go to the fruit and vegetable market.

It's great to be outdoors in the fresh air and to spend some time with friends.

The market place is so colourful and also has a high energy buzz about it. I always come back with a dose of positive energy.

This morning, the carrots caught my eye. They were huge - bigger than the cauliflowers and those are pretty big here in NZ.  I'm holding one in my hand on the right and it was bigger than my hand.

Here are some other pictures I took.

The colours are so bright and cheery. Always makes me feel happy. My energy levels are also higher after visiting the market and I feel refreshed.

Mother Nature / Mother Earth has endowed us with so many wonderful gifts and we take Her so much for granted.  So grateful for this beautiful world.

    1. Thanks Eli. the "grapefruits" are actually nashi pears - they're like a mixture of pear and apple.

  2. When I was a kid, there was a farmer's market that my mother went to. She took the eggs from our chickens and traded for some vegetables. Things were much simpler then.

    1. Hi Blooming Psycho - so true that things were much simpler then. My son often asks why we don't go back to the barter system.

  3. That's pretty much my philosophy too with regard to photos, Suzy. I love beautiful photography but have neither time nor patience to play about with it. As you say, it's a moment.
Had a quick browse and like what I saw. Have a nice week! :)

  8. I love outdoor markets. I miss going to them. We have trucks at nearly every corner in my city so I rarely visit the central open markets.

  11. Local farmer's markets are the best. I try to visit ours every week to see what's available before I plan my weekly meals.

  14. Love the photos - there really is a buzz at your market!
We sell our home grown fruit and veg at local markets too, but they're nothing like as opulent as yours. But believe me the buzz is there for the traders too. There's something very special about markets and market trading.
    Thanks for this wonderful post.
Lovely looking carrots by the way.
