Last Week

Last week was hectic and stressful

I simply did not enjoy it.

But looking forward to next week

Let's hope it's a good one.

And sharing this pic from a post few years ago - Street Lamp in Sepia on a rare snowy day in Wellington

Awesome Aspect

Woke up to an awesome aspect

I love the hills that surround my house and it's my early morning ritual to watch them while I sip my tea. The hills look so serene and I feel so peaceful.

But few days ago I drew open the curtains and my eyes lit up in wonder. What an awesome sight, Particularly since it rarely snows in Wellington. The last time it snowed was in 2011.

It's been freezing cold the last few days. Winters in Wellington are cold, but the last few days have been unusually extra cold.

So here is a picture of the hills with some snow

A few "L" words

Hail on a sunny Spring day?

We had hail yesterday on a sunny Spring day that wasn't actually all that cold. For about 10 minutes the sky turned grey and it suddenly got quite cool. And then just as suddenly as the hail came the sun came out again.

Lost for words so best to say it in pictures. Loved watching the hail even though it was pounding down quite hard and loud.

Life is unpredictable, like the Wellington weather.

June Photo a day - Day 18 , 19 - Street, Currently reading

June Photo a day challenge

I cheat a little as I missed yesterday - just too many things to do.

So here is day 18 - Street

It's supposed to snow the next few days so thought I would share a snowy street - taken in 2011 when it snowed in Welly.

Day 19 - Currently reading

I am not currently reading anything, but have just finished reading:

A truly great read. I absolutely loved this book. Paulo Coelho is an awesome author.

Thursday Challenge - The Best of 2011

Thursday Challenge - Best or favourite photo taken in 2011

I have so many favourite photos and to choose 1 is real hard so instead I'll choose a time of year that was truly magical.

It never snows in my city, but this year we had so much snow. It was great fun.  So here are some pics of snow covered hills. I love these pics.

I had so much fun building "frosty". I thought we'd make him real big but my hands froze!

Frosty the Snowman

How can you not make a snowman when it's snowing?

Today I decided I was going to be a kid again and make one.

I had thought I would make one at least 3 feet tall but ended up with a tiny little guy as it was so cold and my hands froze.

Here he is ... Frosty the snowman (or Pingu the snowman as the kid calls him).

Snow, Snow, Snow Unbelievable

It's been snowing since yesterday and the hills around where I live look like ski fields. It's so spectacular.

This is really unbelievable. It's even snowing in the city at sea level. That's never happened before. It's so exciting.

Here are some pics.

Snow Snow Snow

It is absolutely freezing here in NZ. We even had snow fall today in my city and that's pretty rare.

So in keeping with the snow, here are my New York snowy pictures. These were taken the day after Christmas.

Looking at these pics takes me back in time to such a fun Christmas. The kid had fun too and loved the snow.

Windows

Thought I'd post something quite different.

Here are two windows in New York's winter. And they bring back memories of a lovely Christmas.

Playing in the Snow

New York in Winter is great fun. We wished for a white Christmas and we got one.

This was the kid's first experience in the snow and the kid had a blast.

Here is a picture of the kids playing in the snow - a few days before Christmas.

The Tappan Zee Bridge

This is the kid's favourite bridge in the whole world. So a crossing over the bridge is a must on a visit to New York.

Here are some pictures of the bridge taken during a winter visit to New York.

When I look at these pictures I remember the moment the kid saw the bridge - it was like the kid had seen heaven.
